I love hand building because it allows me to play and make magic. It gives me an opportunity to be in a creative and safe space where I'm free to create, express myself, and make mistakes. Hand building also helps me to slow down, relax and nurture my inner child.

I have a deep love for wheel throwing because it brings me a profound sense of comfort and fulfillment. Feeling the texture of clay beneath my fingertips and experiencing the sheer satisfaction of transforming it into something both beautiful and functional is incredibly soothing.

I love how pottery can open up my mind and relieve me from outside worries and noises, i can easily express and articulate my emotions through molding in meditative way and it also gives me that sense of satisfaction knowing that my tangible art piece will last for a lifetime.

Jayvee Francisco is a Bachelor of Fine Arts graduate from the University of the Philippines
Diliman, majoring in Painting with a Minor in Ceramic Techniques—the first and only graduate in
the country to do so. Jay’s journey with pottery began in 2021, drawn to the tactile and
meditative process of working with clay. Unlike many self-taught instructors, Jay has undergone
formal academic training in ceramics, allowing for a teaching approach that combines technical
expertise with a strong theoretical foundation.
